knitting for my mom

Filed under: FOs, socks — risknit @ 10:26 am

I completed this scarf for my mum back in January, but didn’t record it because I was hoping for a better shot. This shot shows the stitch pattern, but the color is off. It’s a brighter, more coral color. She loves it! Unfortunately between the time it was blocked and dried and when I gifted it to her, there were no good light opportunities for photos. And I see my mum rarely enough that I didn’t want to make her wait any longer for it.

Coraly Salmony Neon Reddish Scarf for my mummy
Pattern: Germaine Stitch pattern from Barbara Walkers Numero Uno Treasury
Yarn: Cider Moon something or other, color is Apple. I’m not sure what kind of apple they were looking at when they named this!
Needles: Have to check, have it noted but not here.
Started: December 27, 2006
Finished: January 31, 2007
Gifted: February 2, 2007
Verdict: She loves it.

More knitting for my mum.

Closer:

Can you possibly guess what my mum’s favorite color is socks
Pattern: My own – just a baby cable rib and standard EOP heel flap
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock, color is Gold Hill
Needles: 2.25mm Inox Express
Started: February 4, 2007
Finished: February 23, 2007
Gifted: Someday in early March, by mail.
Verdict: She won’t take them off, except to wash them. As soon as they dry she puts them right back on.
Predicition: They’ll have holes from excessive wear within 6 months.

I just finished some socks for me, too. Haven’t shot them yet. I’m well on my way to my goal of a pair of socks each month, as currently I’m three on the year with the fourth pair started already.
